A dilemma arises:
she wonders if she has become
shadow enough - phantasmic child
if she might still be visible
if her breath can be heard
should she try to
stop it stop it stop it
but the pounding headboard
on the other side
finally quiets
and the thumping muscle
of her heart makes the choice
taps on the door
lips to key hole whisper
can I come out now mommy?
